Terms of service
The short version
- AlveoAI is a study and reference tool. It is not medical advice and it is not a substitute for your own judgement or your supervisor's.
- It can be wrong. Check anything that affects a patient against a primary source.
- Don't enter patient-identifying information, and don't share your account.
- Paid plans renew until you cancel. Cancel any time and you keep access to the end of the period you've paid for.
- Question bank content belongs to Alveo Labs. Don't republish or resell it.
This agreement
These terms are between you and Alveo Labs, which operates AlveoAI from Québec, Canada. By creating an account or using the product you accept them. If you don't, don't use it.
You must be at least 16 years old. If you're using AlveoAI as part of a school or clinic, you also confirm you're allowed to.
Educational use, and what that means
AlveoAI helps you study, revise and draft. It is not a medical device, not a diagnostic tool, and not a source of clinical advice. Nothing it produces creates a clinician–patient relationship, and nothing in it should be treated as a second opinion.
You are solely responsible for every clinical decision you make. Verify anything that affects a real patient against a primary source — a current textbook, a guideline body, a drug monograph, or a qualified colleague. Where regulations govern your practice, they take precedence over anything AlveoAI tells you.
Accuracy
AlveoAI is built on large language models. They can produce answers that are confident, fluent and wrong, can misremember a dose or a classification, and can cite a paper that doesn't support the claim being made. We work to reduce this and we cannot eliminate it.
Practice questions and explanations are reviewed before publication, but errors survive review. Tell us if you find one — it helps everyone studying.
The product is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, including any warranty of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We do not guarantee any exam result.
Your account
- Give accurate registration details and keep your email current.
- Keep your password to yourself; you're responsible for what happens under your account.
- One account per person. Accounts are personal and may not be shared, sold or transferred. Sharing paid access is grounds for suspension.
- Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Enter information that identifies a patient — names, dates of birth, health-card numbers, or photographs of identifiable people. Question text is sent to third-party providers, as the privacy policy explains.
- Scrape, bulk-export, republish or resell the question bank, explanations or other content.
- Present AlveoAI's output as your own original work where the rules you're under prohibit that — an institution's academic integrity policy applies to you, not to us.
- Use it to produce material that is unlawful, harassing, or deliberately misleading about health.
- Attempt to breach access controls, probe for vulnerabilities without contacting us first, or disrupt the service for others.
- Reverse engineer the product or use automated means to extract its content.
Plans and payment
There is a free tier. Paid plans are billed monthly or annually through Stripe, in the currency shown at checkout. We never receive or store your card number.
Renewal and cancellation
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
- You can cancel any time from Settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for.
- Fees already paid are non-refundable except where consumer law requires otherwise. If something goes materially wrong, write to us — we would rather sort it out than stand on this clause.
- We may change prices, and will give at least 30 days' notice by email before a change affects your renewal.
What a plan includes
Plan features are described on the pricing page and may change as the product develops. If we remove something material from a paid plan, we'll tell you and you may cancel.
Ownership
AlveoAI, its question bank, explanations, interface and documentation are owned by Alveo Labs and protected by copyright. The AlveoAI logo, word mark, monogram and name are trademarks of Alveo Labs. Your account gives you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the product for your own study or practice — it does not transfer ownership of anything.
What you write
You keep ownership of what you put in — your questions, notes and uploads. You grant us only the licence needed to operate the product for you: to process your input, generate a response, and store what the product needs to store. We do not use your content to train our own models.
Output generated for you is yours to use, subject to these terms and to any rules your institution or regulator places on you.
Availability and changes
We aim to keep AlveoAI running but do not promise uninterrupted access. Features may be added, changed or withdrawn, and the product depends on third-party providers whose availability we do not control.
Chat history is stored in your browser rather than on our servers. We cannot recover a conversation you have lost. Export anything you want to keep.
Ending the agreement
You may close your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that we're required to act on by law, or that puts other users at risk — with notice where it's reasonable to give it.
On closure your access ends and your information is handled as the privacy policy describes. The sections on ownership, accuracy, liability and governing law survive.
Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Alveo Labs is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, for lost profits or data, or for any clinical, academic or professional outcome arising from your use of AlveoAI. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before it arose.
Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, and where that applies to you, they apply only to the extent permitted. Nothing here limits liability for fraud or for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Québec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes go to the courts of Québec, and if you are a consumer, nothing here removes a right you have under consumer protection law where you live.
Changes to these terms
We will update the date at the top when these terms change. For changes that materially affect your rights or what you pay, we will notify account holders by email before they take effect. Continuing to use AlveoAI afterwards means you accept them.
